Electrical Engineering Study Program was established on February 14, 2014 which was proposed by the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS). The electrical engineering study program was initiated to produce human resources in the field of engineering to meet the needs of the industry in East Kalimantan. The ITK Electrical Engineering Study Program accepted the first batch of 20 students. The admission route for ITK students is through the ITK Entrance Selection Path (SMITeK) which is the result of collaboration between the Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS) and the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, through the Kaltim Cemerlang scholarship. The lecture process at the beginning of the initiation was held at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology while waiting for the preparation of building construction.
